What is the best lighting for art on walls?

LED bulbs are the best light for artwork as they minimise potential damage through heat exposure. Refraining from halogen bulbs and keeping works out of direct sunlight is also advisable.

Should picture lights face up or down?

Picture lights should face down so they properly illuminate the work below. Ideally, the light should hit the artwork at a slight angle, between 30 and 45 degrees.

Where is the proper placement of picture lights?

Your picture light should be placed centrally, about 6-7 inches above the frame, ensuring an even light spread across the piece.
